3.5 starsI picked up this book when scouring Amazon for books set in New Zealand. It's the first I've read by this author so I was super excited. Too much so, perhaps? The first 60% of the story was a rather long, slow trudge for me. The part about her daughter irked me, and ironically ended up saving the story in my eyes.
