What an absolute beauty of a book. I made the terrible faux pas of watching the film before I read the book (please, forgive me) so I was already armed with some understanding of the plot and the ending... and I was still left breathless after reading this. Some phrases and moments in the book evoke the most beautifully, painful imagery and I was so emotionally invested in the characters that this became a one-sitting book (a very rare breed these days)WARNING: Do not attempt to read this book

Despite the general hype about this book, I had my reservations because I had gone into The Lovely Bones with similar optimism and been highly disappointed by a story that never really took off and was simply drab and boring.
